When she sat down for the star-studded premiere of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat in 2006, Pamela Anderson never thought her surprise cameo would lead to a breakup with then-husband, Kid Rock.

In an excerpt from her newly released memoir Love, Pamela, the former Baywatch star reveals how Rock, whose real name is Robert “Bob” Ritchie, exploded during an invite-only screening of the comedy in which celebrities like Steven Spielberg, Rick Rubin, Laird Hamilton and his wife, Gabby Reece, were in attendance.

“I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie, because I wanted to surprise him,” Anderson writes in an excerpt released by Rolling Stone. “I forgot about the part in the film that referenced the ‘sex tape’ (with first husband Tommy Lee). Bob stormed out, calling me a whore and worse. He was embarrassed, and his reaction was not thought through.”

Anderson says an angry Rock ditched her at the theatre, leaving her to make her own way home.

“After I chased Bob to his car, he peeled out, leaving me there alone,” Anderson continues. “I turned back and apologized, then asked if anyone could give me a ride home. When I walked in, Bob was smashing a photo on the wall. He said he was sick of waking up to a picture of me and David LaChapelle every day. But it wasn’t me and David — it was Marilyn Monroe and Bert Stern.”

In Borat, Baron Cohen played a bumbling reporter from Kazakhstan named Borat Sagdiyev who was travelling across America to document U.S. culture. After coming across an image of Anderson, he becomes obsessed with the former Playboy Playmate and hatches a plan to kidnap her.

In a 2019 interview, Baron Cohen said that unlike most of the unwitting participants of the film, Anderson was in on the gag or “else it would be kidnapping.”

“We did that scene twice, actually,” Baron Cohen told The Daily Beast. “The first time we did it at a book signing and I grabbed her over my shoulder and ran out with her and no one did anything. I was like, what kind of fans are these?”

During the second take, Anderson was accidentally injured.

When Baron Cohen asked her what he then-husband thought of the film, she told them they were getting a divorce.

“I was like, ‘why?’ And she goes, ‘The movie.’ And I thought it was a joke.”

Elsewhere in her new book, Anderson claims that her Home Improvement co-star Tim Allen flashed her on the set of the sitcom in 1991.

“On the first day of filming, I walked out of my dressing room, and Tim was in the hallway in his robe. He opened his robe and flashed me quickly — completely naked underneath. He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.”

Allen vehemently shot down her story telling Variety, “No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.”

This week, Allen went a step further telling the Daily Mail he was “a little disappointed in her.”

In an accompanying Netflix documentary, Pamela, a love story, the Barb Wire actress goes on to describe an interaction with actor Sylvester Stallone, who allegedly “offered me a condo and a Porsche to be his ‘No. 1 girl.’”

Anderson said she turned the offer down, and Stallone denied her accusations in a statement to PEOPLE.

Ryan White, the director of Pamela, a love story, says that despite Allen and Stallone’s emphatic denials, he believes the Anderson’s assertions.

“I totally believe Pamela because I think she’s always honest in everything — about her own shortcomings, but also about other people’s,” White told Variety.

“Pamela doesn’t see these as huge junctures in her life,” the filmmaker said. “They’re just moments that she tells you about as she’s rattling off a story.”
