New Delhi: Jack Dorsey, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Twitter Inc, stepped down from his position on Monday. Parag Agrawal, the company’s chief technology officer, will take over the helm, the company said. Dorsey said that Parag Agrawal has been his choice as next CEO “for some time” given “how deeply he understands the company and its needs”. “He’s curious, probing, rational, creative, demanding, self-aware, and humble. 1. Parag Agrawal joined Twitter as ‘Distinguished Software Engineer’ in 2011 and became the CTO of the company in 2017
2. Parag Agrawal has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a doctorate in Computer Science from Stanford University
3. As the CTO, Parag was responsible for “Twitter’s technical strategy and overseeing machine learning and AI across the consumer, revenue, and science teams”.
4. Before Twitter, Parag Agrawal worked with Microsoft, Yahoo and AT&T Labs.
5. Parag Agrawal studied B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay and completed his PhD from Stanford University.
