Paramore’s really, really good week

Thursday. Coming off this week’s news that they’ll be opening nearly 50 of Taylor Swift’s European tour dates, resurgent pop-punk act Paramore is headlining Denver’s Ball Arena on Thursday, July 13. The band’s loyal fanatics, who this year got an early holiday present in a new album “This Is Why,” have magnetized to lead singer Hayley Williams’ unflagging stage energy and earworm melodies, among other virtues.

Colorado Brewers Rendezvous

Saturday. One of the state’s most grassroots beer fests returns to Salida on Saturday, July 8, when the 27th annual Colorado Brewers Rendezvous once again packs the town’s Riverside Park with hundreds of locally-made beers from more than 60 Colorado craft breweries. Participants include Bierstadt Lagerhaus, Cellar West, Eddyline, Great Divide, Oskar Blues and many more.

In addition to providing an idyllic setting for a beer festival, the event also serves as a gathering place for the brewing industry and a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild. Through Aug. 13. The long influence of and familiarity with Cirque du Soleil’s tactics — rolling into town with a new show every year or two and setting up shop for a few weeks — has translated to a certain comfort with the Canadian neo-circus brand, even as they’re always trying to rile us up with new sights and sounds.

The latest import is “Kooza,” which opened on July 5 at Denver’s Ball Arena grounds and runs through Aug. 13. While the show’s been out since 2017, the company has been honing features like its Wheel of Death, Double Highwire and Arial Silks. Leadville’s cultural core

All summer. If you haven’t visited Leadville’s restored Tabor Opera House, you’re in for a treat. The living slice of history has been gussied up for new audiences who weren’t even a twinkle in the eyes when it was built during the silver-boom days of 1879. Now’s it’s packed with performances that honor its unusually ritzy interior in one of the highest-altitude towns in North America.

This weekend’s big event is “Old Friends: An Evening With Broadway’s Christiane Noll & Richard Carsey.” The concert mixes songs and storytelling that span Noll’s Tony winning career, as well as Tony-nominee Carsey’s musical genius. Artistic Director Scott Carroll calls it “a dream come true” moment for the venue.
