BJP’s social media head Amit Malviya on Saturday hit out at the Congress’s allegations that the party maintains “close ties” with people involved in terror activities. Malviya took to Twitter to respond to Congress’s claims and said the party is making a desperate attempt to link “a few radicalised men with suspected terror links to the BJP”.
Malviya also shared a picture and wrote, “In these pictures, LTTE assassins can be seen with Rajiv Gandhi. The proximity shows their access was vetted by the party apparatus.”

Malviya, however, continued and said, “Does that mean Congress workers killed Rajiv Gandhi? Of course not, but then if one has to wreck a set up, one has to be in it, something men in Udaipur and Kashmir may have been planning for.”
He added that matters of national security are too important to politicise for short-term gains.
Malviya’s tweet follows claims made by Congress leaders that the BJP has “connections” with terrorists. The Congress’s media and publicity chairman Pawan Khera had alleged that one of the accused in the Udaipur beheading case was a BJP worker. He also attacked the BJP over its alleged links with an arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir.
Khera’s remarks had come after it was revealed that one of the captured LeT terrorists was in charge of BJP’s Jammu province’s Minority Morcha’s IT and Social Media cell. However, the BJP said that he remained a member of the party for only 18 days.
