Miami Heat executive Pat Riley plans on “hitting big” before the next NBA season with subtle offseason moves.
Riley also claims that “subtle moves” will be enough to get the Heat over the hump after their Finals runner-up campaign this past season.
“I plan on hitting big again, but I’m not just swinging for the fences right now because it could be reckless,” he said in a press conference on Tuesday.

There’ve been a couple rumors about potential big-time moves for the Heat already this offseason. The Miami franchise was named as a finalist for Bradley Beal before he ultimately landed in Phoenix, and they’ve also had rumored interest in Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard.
Both of those moves (particularly Lillard) would have been “home-run” moves for the Heat. But with neither of those plays in the cards, it looks like Riley and his team will need to make some more minor changes in the coming weeks.
Miami has a lot of draw for prospective NBA talent given its location and recent postseason success. We’ll see what Riley and the Heat can put together in terms of roster building this offseason.
