And now that same set of drivers is perking up once again with the revelation that parent company Stellantis has filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) that includes images and descriptions of a truck with a snorkel, a two-inch lift, beadlock wheels, a special grille with places to mount a winch, and a rear bumper with built-in LED lights and exhaust shifted to the side.
In actuality, it was Stellantis’ Mopar division that brought that special overlander edition kitted out with all those get-dirty parts to SEMA, so it stands to reason that, should this patent move from paper to metal, the aftermarket parts leader would be adding the accoutrements to one of Ram’s existing pickups.

The original 1500 Rebel OTG concept also showed off a rack system in the bed, a roof-mounted tent, solar panels, fog lights up top, wheel flares front and rear, and a rear bumper that relocated exhaust to the sides to improve departure angle.
Would these features show up on a production model? They certainly could, and mayhaps will.
