Paul accused of ducking UFC legend before taking Silva fight

Hasim Rahman Jr has claimed that Jake Paul ducked a $30 million payday with his next opponent Vitor Belfort before taking the Anderson Silva fight. Belfort – a former UFC light-heavyweight champion – will square off against Rahman Jr on November 19 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas after their October 15 date in London was rescheduled.

According to Rahman Jr, Belfort had originally approached Paul to make a fight happen but received a swift rejection.

“It is more-so about proving a point of why fake Paul was scared,” Rahman told The Schmo. “He doesn’t want to fight Vitor, he declined that. They put $30 million on the table for them to fight and he didn’t want to take that and then now he didn’t want to fight me.

“So, these two guys that Jake Paul is obviously ducking and obviously scared of, now we going to fight. I don’t think any way the fight goes, I don’t think Jake is going to be in a hurry to get in the ring with either one of us.”

Rahman Jr now hopes a win in two months’ time will lead to another shot at The Problem Child and claims he is much closer to the 200lb mark than before.

“I think that if everything plays out and we both win our fights there should be no reason why we can’t come to an agreement where I can punch him in the face because I don’t to have to address him on in the fray.”

He continued: “Probably between 205 and 210 that’s not too far out from where the contract was for the Jake Paul fight and like we all know I only had a little over three weeks to lose the weight for that fight but I have been blowing back up but he ain’t looking for this smoke.”
