Paul Pierce and Dwyane Wade are each NBA legends. Both players are synonymous with certain franchises and won NBA championships over the course of their careers.
Many would likely say that Wade was the all-time better player, simply because he was on more championship teams and played more of a part in team success. That doesn’t mean that Pierce was necessarily a worse player, but Wade’s accolades look better on paper.
Pierce was recently asked why he thought he should be ranked ahead of Wade when it comes to the all-time conversation, and he had a very candid answer.

“Put Shaq on my team, put LeBron and Bosh with me. I’m not going to win one?” Pierce asked in an appearance on Camron and Mase’s “It Is What It Is” show.
“We’re not gonna win a couple?”
Pierce also said that even though Wade averaged more points over the course of their careers, he was a more versatile scorer because he could do more from different positions on the court.
“I don’t want this to be a knock against Wade,” Pierce clarified. “But my skills went under appreciated because I didn’t get to play with a lot of great players, and I got to play with KG and Ray [Allen] past their prime.”
He said that if he had the opportunity to play with Garnett and Allen four years earlier, they likely would have won more titles together.
There’s no way to tell that for sure, but Pierce does bring up some good points in the argument of himself against Dwyane Wade.
