Jake Paul has revealed that the fight he wants most is a boxing bout against two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor. Paul has been calling out McGregor ever since he made the transition to boxing in 2018.
Initially, when asked what the biggest fight for him was last year, Paul named Mike Tyson, but McGregor has since shot up The Problem Child’s hit list. The Irishman has paid little attention to Paul’s callouts but insists he will box again in the future.
In 2017, Notorious secured the largest payday of his combat sports career when he boxed Floyd Mayweather in TBE’s final professional outing. For now, though, McGregor is fully committed to mixed martial arts and is expected to return to action in 2023.
Meanwhile, a fight with KSI looms in the background. Many inside the influencer boxer sphere believe KSI vs Paul is the biggest fight that can be made for the ex-Disney actor, but Paul insists KSI can’t sell PPVs. Instead, Paul named McGregor as his dream fight and believes he could sell PPVs for the press conference.
“Yeah, someone told me that,” Paul added. “It defeats the purpose, but I’ve thought of that. But KSI doesn’t really sell PPVs on his own, he needs Logan Paul or Jake Paul to sell. He sells a lot of merch and Sideman s*** but PPV is different when someone is forking out sixty dollars.”
“Look I have respect for the guy, he’s one of the greatest of all time and that’s cool but why are you fighting a guy I beat five years ago? The answer is money but let’s make some history, let’s give the fans something they want to see.
“I can weigh 175lb which is exactly what Deji is weighing so there’s really no excuse other than he thinks he’s going to lose.”
