Paul tipped to beat Silva for three reasons by Wilder’s trainer

Jake Paul has been backed to defeat Anderson Silva next month by Deontay Wilder’s coach, Malik Scott. The American trainer believes Silva will get beaten as he is too old, too slow and doesn’t move in the same way that he used to.

The pair square off on October 29 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona as the YouTuber-turned-boxer takes part in his sixth professional bout against his toughest test to date. Despite being 47 years old, Silva is a former UFC middleweight champion and recently beat ex-WBC middleweight titlist Julio Cesar Chavez Jr over eight rounds in the squared circle.

But Scott believes youth will overcome experience and backs Paul, 25, to get the job done on fight night. Speaking about The Problem Child’s rise in the sport and his contest against Silva during an interview with FairBettingSites, Scott said: “The matches are real safe that he’s taken. He’s not taking real, real chances in my opinion. Even Silva, Silva’s a tad bit old. Even if you look at him doing boxing exhibitions, he doesn’t move as he did.

“Especially if it’s just boxing and not using his legs. Silva’s being brought in, he’s got a great name. He’s a great fighter. But I believe Jake Paul has also become a good fighter as well. Is he a world beater? Absolutely not. But is he an influencer fighter?

Paul has been out of the ring since December 2021 after a frustrating ten months. The ex-Disney actor had his long-awaited grudge match with Tommy Fury cancelled due to the Brit being denied entry to the United States before his replacement fight with Hasim Rahman Jr fell through over a disagreement with the proposed weight.
