PBA on Tour: Rain or Shine routs Converge to rebound from loss to Ginebra

Rain or Shine got back to its winning ways after a late collapse the last time by thumping Converge, 127-110, in the PBA On Tour on Friday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Six players scored in double figures while three others nearly hit twin digits as the Elasto Painters claimed their fifth victory in six games halfway into their campaign in the exhibition series.

Coach Yeng Guiao’s wards redeemed themselves five days after absorbing their first PBA On Tour defeat at the hands of Barangay Ginebra.

In that game, Rain or Shine squandered a six-point lead with under two minutes left for a 108-107 defeat.

Anton Asistio scored 20 points built on five three-pointers, Sean Ildefonso had 19 points while Rey Nambatac added 17 points in his first game since signing a fresh three-year pact in Rain or Shine’s latest triumph.

Gian Mamuyac, Santi Santillan, Nick Demusis and Andrei Caracut also came through while Mac Belo and Jhonard Clarito also had their share in the win which saw the Elasto Painters lead by a high of 31 at one point.

Converge was denied a third straight victory and dropped to a 3-4 win-loss slate.

Justine Arana finished with 25 points and 18 rebounds, Adrian Wong scored 20 and Mike Nieto added 19 for the FiberXers.
