Pennsylvania woman dismembered parents with chainsaw over nine days: Cops

Detectives are trying to unravel why a Pennsylvania woman allegedly shot her parents in the head and dismembered their corpses with a chainsaw.

Cops say that late Tuesday, the couple’s son — worried because he hadn’t heard from the victims since Jan. 7 — drove by their home.

Justin Beck saw the lights were out. When he returned later that night, he found his sister Verity Beck with their father’s body and called police.

Investigators found the decomposing bodies of Reid Beck, 73, and Miriam Beck, 72. A pillow with bullet holes was also located, indicating the shootings were point blank.

But it wasn’t just the bullets that caused veteran homicide detectives to wretch: The remains had been carved up with a chainsaw.

Verity Beck, 49, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. She has been ordered held without bail.

While investigators have so far been unable to pinpoint a motive, they discovered a hidden safe in the murder house that someone had attempted to break into.

Justin Beck told detectives that he had received texts from his parents over the past 10 days but no calls. Previously he spoke to his mother every day.

When he arrived at the home, he saw a pair of feet sticking out from under a bloody sheet. He assumed it was his father.

Verity allegedly told her brother that the situation in the home — where she also lived — had “been bad,” court documents said, adding she needed “more time” before Justin called the cops. He went home and called police.

When police arrived, they asked her: “Where are your parents?”

Verity replied: “They are dead.”

Inside the house of horrors, they found the chainsaw and blood splattered inside a bedroom door. In addition, a “heavy” trash can had white linen covering something.

It contained body parts of her mother. Her father had been decapitated. More body parts were discovered in another trash can in the garage.

In Verity’s bedroom, cops found three handguns with spent rounds.

“This is somebody that is dismembering her mother and father and putting body parts in trash cans,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele alleged. “So clearly she’s trying to get rid of the evidence of her crime.”

The family was described as “happy” and neighbours said the elderly couple loved the beach. There was nothing untoward happening in the house that hinted at impending tragedy.

Steele added: “There were signs of extreme trauma, and I’ll tell you that the chainsaw was found. And both Reid and Miriam were found in different stages of dismemberment.”
