Al Ahly attacker Percy Tau has returned to the training grounds following his two-month injury lay-off, the club confirmed in a statement.

Tau hasn’t kicked a ball since 10 August when Al Ahly beat El Masry 2-0, and his injury woes led to speculation that he could be offloaded.

The departure of Pitso Mosimane from Al Ahly in June also had a negative impact on Tau as he was brought in all the way from the Premier League by the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

Now, Tau will look to impress newly-appointed head coach Marcel Koller who took over from Ricardo Soares.
PERCY TAU RETURNS TO AL AHLY TRAINING GROUNDS
According to Al Ahly, while Tau is officially back with the rest of his teammates, he is doing light training with the expectations that he steps it up in the next few weeks.
It is unclear as to when Tau will be fully available for selection but Al Ahly can certainly do with his services sooner rather than later.

Tau’s injury coupled with his loss of form saw him miss Bafana Bafana’s recent two international friendlies against Sierra Leone and Botswana.

However, he would hope to, at least, twist Broos’ arm with his performances to earn a place in his squad come March next year.
