A Perth business has offered a hilarious response after a customer thought cheese from their store “exploded”.
Leederville’s The Re Store, a Perth mainstay for European alcohol and food, including their hallowed continental rolls, posted the response on social media on Tuesday.
The saga started after a customer said they bought cheese from the store and it “exploded”.
“Bought cheese from The Re Store and cut into it and it exploded,” the customer said on Reddit, alongside a bizarre image of the cheese, and a knife with a burn mark.
“Burnt and broke my knife.”
After a few confused remarks from Reddit users, the customer figured out the problem was less sinister than first thought.
“Never mind, it wasn’t the cheese. We did an inspection and my friend accidentally cut through a cable underneath the cheese,” the customer said.
One Reddit user asked: “Hold on… your friend laid the cheese on top of a live wire and tried to cut through the cheese with a knife?”
“Yep,” the customer responded.
No one was hurt in the incident, and the post from The Re Store sure did attract a number of good cheese puns.
“We’re just glad everyone is OK. P.S we also sell cheese boards,” the store said.
“De Brie was scattered everywhere,” one social media user quipped.
