Perth’s ‘bogan day spa’ SLAMMED by sickened couple

A Perth couple has created a stir online after posting a stinging review of their recent day spa experience, dismissing it as “bogan luxury”.

The pair paid $330 per person for a luxury treatment at Vanilla Face and Body Spa, located in the retail lobby of the Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough, which they said was “really nice”.

But it was the extra $55 they spent for an hour’s access to a private balcony which they said proved to be less than impressive.

“Perth strikes again w the bogan luxuries (sic),” is how they described alongside a TikTok video posted a week ago.

Instead of a “decadent private couples balcony”, they were presented instead with a gazebo set up on an interior balcony that they claimed “looked like it was from someone’s backyard, maybe off Gumtree which is nice cutting costs”.

It even came adorned with bird poo.

And, instead of a nice view of the ocean from the Scarborough landmark which they might have expected, instead their view was of some “miscellaneous machinery” and dust.

“If you squinted, the dust could look like sand on a beach.”

The “complementary refreshments, chocolates and a bottle of sparkling” they were promised also turned out to be not so great.

The video, which has been watched more than 31,000 times, takes viewers on a tour of the so-called luxury balcony, pointing out the flaws, including the cheap extras.

“Here’s a bottle of wine that was $12 on Dan Murphy’s website, I checked. There is a cork from the previous people that died on this balcony,” they said.

“We had a few little nibbles from the other lounge where everyone got to go for free. There’s some rocks that you could like throw off the balcony, I guess, into the lobby where people were eating their lunch,” she continued.

“Fake flowers, of course, you’ve got to make sure the flowers don’t die and fake flowers don’t die.”

Their TikTok followers jumped in to share their views on the horror experience.

“This looks like a DIY – at someone’s house 10/10 at a hotel absolutely not ????”

“Nice nice, the old cork and dust made it worth $55 , some ppl don’t appreciate beauty in this tropical relaxing balcony ???? ????,” another joked.
