Peshawar Zalmi injury update, key players in PSL 2023
Peshawar Zalmi have no fresh injury concerns leading into the game and have just defeated table-toppers Lahore Qalandars to put themselves in a good position.
Babar Azam tweaked the top-order for the match as Saim Ayyub was promoted to the opening spot with misfiring Mohammad Haris taking his place at No. 3. This decision did work well for Zalmi as Ayyub fired 36-ball 68 for his third half-century of the season.
Ayuub’s knock came after back-to-back poor outings at No. 3. Azam also hit his third half-century with a knock of 41-ball 50 as the duo added 107 runs for the opening wicket.
Mohammad Haris’s fortune, however, didn’t change much as he could score just nine after back-to-back ducks.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore remains consistent with bat
Tom Kohler-Cadmore has finally found that consistency in his batting as he hit 36 runs off 16 balls in the slog overs following two consecutive half centuries
Rovman Powell had a bad day at the office as he contributed just nine runs on the day but has been in strong form off late.
Further down the order, likes of Haseebullah Khan, Azmatullah Omarzai and Aamer Jamal give further firepower to Zalmi, who finally have found their winning combination. However, the trio may not get to bat much given the good form of the top order. Haseebullah in particular has been impressive as he scored a 29-ball 50 a match ago.
Omarzai, Aamer Jamal continue wicket form
Omarzai and Jamal continue their good showing with the ball as the former took two wickets against Lahore while Jamal picked up a wicket as well. The duo has taken nine wickets since featuring in the last two games together.
Afghan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who took three wickets in the last game, couldn’t sustain his form asnd went for 44 runs in four overs.
Wahab Riaz shows his class
Senior pacer Wahab Riaz, however, finally arrived at the party as his three-wicket spell killed Lahore Qalandars’ chase by the end of the powerplay. The 3/17 spell took his wicket tally to seven this season.
Also made an impact was young pacer Arshad Iqbal, who also made good use of the new ball to take 3/27.

Quetta Gladiators injury update, key players
Quetta Gladiators may have to play this crucial game without their captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who has been in good form. Quetta’s highest wicket-taker Mohammad Hasnain didn’t feature in the last game and there’s no update yet on him being available for the game on Wednesday.
Quetta, however, come to this game finally on the back of a win as Martin Guptill’s solo knock once again reminded fans of his capability. The Kiwi opener, who took his time to settle down the chase, scored 56-ball 86 after struggling to reach 40 runs off 41 balls.
Quetta revamp playing 11 in desperate measure
He started the innings with a new partner in Omair Yousuf, who could only contribute eight runs. The batting order was tweaked as well with Muhammad Nawaz sent to bat at No. 3 but the all-rounder could only score 15 in what has been a dismal season with the bat for the Pakistan international.
Iftikhar Ahmed failed to impress once again as the middle-order batter has scored just nine runs in his last three innings.
Najibullah Zadran and Umar Akmal failed to cash in on the opportunities handed to them with negligible contributions with the bat. Akmal, however, may still keep his spot for the next game if Sarfaraz doesn’t make it.
Also added to the line-up was Dwaine Pretorius, who did justice to the task of finisher with an innings of 10 runs in three balls.
Naseem, Aimal take charge in Hasnain’s absence
Hasnain’s absence in the last game was feared as the last nail in the coffin for Quetta. However, Naseem Shah finally bowled a good spell after a string of poor shows as he took 2/31 in the last game. Aimal Khan also picked up two wickets with the new ball.
Muhammad Nawaz picked a wicket as well to take his tally to five wickets in the last three games while Naveen Ul Haq proved too expensive for a wicket as he gave away 43 runs.

Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators pitch report PES vs QUE
Rawalpindi’s Pindi Stadium pitch is getting slower than before with pacers with variation are making batters hard to hit the ball around while spinners have started to feel comfortable on the pitch. Anything above 180 would be a task for a side to chase unless dew comes into play later on in the second innings.
