Petco Love & All Kind Animal Initiative Work Together to Provide Free Vaccination to Pets

The Abilene-based All Kind Animal Initiative will provide free vaccines for pets in the area (Texas, United States). Petco Love’s new nationwide vaccination campaign, is offering 1 million free pet immunizations to its existing animal welfare partners. One of their partners are All Kind Animal Initiative, for family pets that are in need.

Parvovirus and distemper in dogs, as well as pan leukopenia in cats, are some of the most common fatal infections that can be prevented with these simple vaccines. Almost  305 of pet parents do not take their pets to the veterinarian for preventative care on a yearly basis. In order to address this vital need, All Kind Animal Initiative and Petco Love have teamed up to make pet immunizations free and accessible to ensure our beloved dogs’ health and well-being.

Through this campaign, the All Kind Animal Initiative hopes to vaccinate around 400 pets. The vaccination campaigns will be held at Frontier Vet Express (2641 Post Oak Road). on January 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m (GMT-6). The vaccinations will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. The DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines will be distributed as part of the Petco Love project. Microchips will be provided free of charge by Abilene Animal Services. Frontier Vet Express will also be on hand, selling rabies, flea/tick, feline leukemia, and heartworm prevention.

While speaking to a local news agency, All Kind’s Chairwoman, Andrea Robison said “Part of All Kind’s mission is to make people feel like maintaining their pet’s health is more accessible and more affordable.” She also added that she was glad to associate with Petco Love in order to provide free vaccination for the pet and she wishes that all pet parents in the vicinity make good use of this.

Susanne Kogut, the President of Petco Love said, “It is heartbreaking when any pet suffers or dies from a disease that could have been prevented. It is further exacerbated when unvaccinated pets come into busy shelter kennels, where these deadly diseases can spread quickly, resulting in multiple deaths, skyrocketing expenses, and hindering saving pet lives,” She also highlighted on the importance of vaccination and the awareness of people on vaccinations. She said that with this initiative they want all pets to stay away from life threatening diseases.
