Peter Andre has revealed he once had a run in with a member of the Japanese mafia in Tokyo.

The hitmaker, 50, explained he was living in the city at the time and admitted the encounter let him ‘petrified’.

The dad-of-four said the mafia member in question started ‘shouting at him aggressively’ but the Mysterious Girl singer had ‘no idea what he was saying’.

Peter explained: ‘I was at a bar in Tokyo, where I lived for a few months.

‘On this particular night, this man just started yelling at me really aggressively and it turned out he was a member of the Japanese mafia, the Yakuza.’

Writing in the Sunday Times, he added: ‘I had no idea what he was saying but apparently it was a demonstration of his authority.’

‘I was petrified but fortunately the situation didn’t escalate.’

Elsewhere in the article, in which Peter spoke about his travels, the star – who signed his first record deal aged 16 – remembered touring with the Backstreet Boy in Germany.

The Harrow-born musician said he and the chart-topping boyband ended up ‘giggling’ when they turned up to a sauna that they hadn’t realised was mixed, so ended up ‘surrounded by all these naked men’.

Peter’s trip down memory lane comes after he reportedly set ‘strict rules’ for his eldest daughter Princess as she carves out her own showbiz career.

Revealing his rules for joining the glittering family business, the singer told OK! magazine: ‘Junior was 16 before he was allowed to do any scheduled stuff and Princess is still doing GCSEs, so she’s only does little tiny things here and there.

‘No scheduled work – nothing like that.’

When questioned over whether he wanted fame for his two eldest kids, the doting dad responded: ‘Do you know what – they’ve grown up in this industry, they’ve learned to be respectful and they’ve learned to be really kind.

‘Plus, Claire [his manager] has been with me for almost 30 years, so she helps me with them and for me, that means there’s every chance we can help them do something their way’.
