Phil Jackson Advising The Lakers: NBA World Reacts –

Earlier this offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers decided it was time to move on from head coach Frank Vogel.

He and the Lakers entered the 2021-22 season with title hopes, but injuries quickly derailed the season. After losing both LeBron James and Anthony Davis for significant stretches, the Lakers weren’t able to secure a spot in the playoffs – or the play-in tournament.

As Los Angeles searches for a new head coach, it’s reportedly doing so with the help from an old friend. Former Lakers head coach Phil Jackson is reportedly “advising” the team on its head coaching search.

It’s safe to say that fans aren’t exactly on board with the process.

“The entire reason you settled for Vogel was because Jackson and crew had their hands all over the process and no good candidates wanted anything to do with the Lakers. So lets try it again apparently,” one fan said.

“Look, PJ is all-great as a HC, but anyone remember what the NYK looked like with him doing a coaching search?” asked another fan.

Are the Lakers making the right decision allowing Jackson to be part of the process? Fans might not know the answer for years to come.
