Is it possible Phil Jackson would side with the King in the Jordan vs. LeBron debate?

In video that’s recirculating on the internet, the Hall of Fame coach tells Chris Meyers that he believes Scottie Pippen is a more well-rounded player than MJ. Calling Scottie “unselfish” and the greatest all-around talent in the league at that time (roughly the mid-90’s).

Fans joined in on the conversation on Twitter.

“David Robinson is a more ‘complete’ player than Shaq and Wilt. Scottie is more complete than Magic and Curry. Who cares?” a user asked. “More complete never meant ‘better.'”

“Nice try,” another commented. “Jackson said he’d rather build around Dwight Howard in his prime than LeBron – not a fan.”

“This video is almost certainly from 1995,” New York Basketball replied. “The b-roll shows Roy Tarpley who didn’t play in the NBA after 1990 except 1994-95. That would be an odd highlight to pull 2 years later. That’s but one of the ridiculous things about this tweet.”

This season, LeBron surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and will likely leave the game with even more records to his name. But many still don’t believe he’ll ever catch that ghost in Chicago.
