On Saturday morning, the 76ers posted a birthday message on social media for All-Star guard James Harden.
The 76ers didn’t have much to say other than “happy birthday.” That makes sense considering he wants out of Philadelphia.
Earlier this month, Harden ripped 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey. The former MVP referred to him as a “liar” while at an Adidas event in China.
“Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of,” Harden said. “Let me say that again: Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.”
The NBA then fined Harden $100,000 for his comments.
Even though Harden has made it known that he wants to be traded, the 76ers are still treating him like he’s a vital member of the organization.

With that said, the sports world had some thoughts about this birthday post from the 76ers.
“This should smooth things over,” Ryan Glasspiegel sarcastically said.
“This organization is hilarious,” Sean Barnard wrote.
Harden exercised his $35.6 million player option for the 2023-24 season with the belief that he’d be traded to the Clippers. However, a deal never materialized.
Maybe, just maybe, Harden can work out his differences with the 76ers. This birthday post won’t be the reason why though.
