On Monday, Draymond Green’s agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, confirmed that the All-Star forward is declining his player option and entering free agency. Before revealing that decision, Green was vacationing overseas with LeBron James.

Once bitter rivals on the court, Green’s Golden State Warriors faced LeBron’s Cleveland Cavaliers in four straight NBA Finals. Green famously got suspended for a game after kicking James in a sensitive area.
However, they appear to have since become friends off the court. James, who is a client and close friend of Paul, attended Green’s wedding last summer.
Per Odds Shark, the Los Angeles Lakers have the shortest odd (+550) after the Warriors (-170) to sign Green. Perhaps the LeBron connection is fueling that line, but the defensive specialist seems like an odd fit.
The Lakers must surround James with better perimeter shooting after making just 34.6 percent of their three-point attempts last season. Green does many things well, but shooting is not one of them.
New Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. told reporters Monday they “really want Draymond back.” Green has played a monumental role in steering Golden State to four championships since getting drafted in the second round 11 years ago.
