The 7-foot-4 Victor Wembanyama will tower over most NBA players and just about any other person.
At 6-foot-1, Stephen A. Smith is four inches taller than the average United States male. Yet he had to hold up his microphone just to reach Wembanyama’s face in a red-carpet interview before Thursday night’s NBA Draft.
Smith posted a photo where he looks diminutive next to the presumptive No. 1 pick. The ESPN personality joked at his expense by placing it alongside a picture of Yao Ming (7’6″) standing in the same frame as Earl Boykin (5’5″).

This probably won’t be the first time tonight that somebody looks like a kid next to Wembanyama. Adam Silver might want to bring a stool to the stage before announcing the San Antonio Spurs’ first pick.
Anybody else interviewing the 19-year-old should probably get him to sit down.
The NBA Draft begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
