Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, currently head football coach at the University of Michigan, has sold his Atherton mansion for $11.78 million — $1.2 million under the original asking price of $12.98 million.
Harbaugh, who went to Palo Alto High School and was the head football coach at Stanford for three years before leading the 49ers, originally listed the property back in July.
The property spent a little time off the market late last year and finally sold last week. The expansive 8,527-square-foot property, which has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, includes a guesthouse. The main house has beamed ceilings, a chef’s kitchen and a spacious family room, among many other amenities. There is also plenty of outdoor opportunities with a pool, spa, outdoor kitchen and fire pit.
Harbaugh purchased the home in the tony suburb in 2012 for $6.3 million, according to public records. The DeLeon Team with DeLeon Realty were the most recent listing agents.
Harbaugh, 57, led the 49ers to the NFC Championship game in each of his first three seasons as coach between 2011-2014. Since 2015, he has been head football coach at his alma mater.
In February, Michigan agreed to pay Harbaugh more than $7 million per year through the 2026 season, making Harbaugh one of the highest paid coaches in college football.
