The Two E Lounge at the Pierre NY is presenting pianist and singer Eric Yves Garcia every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Garcia is a singer/pianist who, according to BroadwayWorld.com, “embodies, in every way, what it is to be a New York City nightclub entertainer.” Performing in repeat engagements in London and Paris, he has also received a Bistro Award for singer-instrumentalist and the Margaret Whiting Award, and was hired by Josephine Baker’s adopted son, Jean-Claude, to perform at Chez Josephine, in New York’s theater district.
In New York Garcia has appeared at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Town Hall, Birdland, 54 Below, City Winery, Carnegie Hall, the Café Carlyle and Bemelmans Bar, while his regional appearances include the Empire Room at the Palmer in Chicago, Asolo Theater in Sarasota, Tilles Center in Brookville, N.Y., Kravis Center in Palm Beach, the O’Neill Center in Danbury, Conn., and Ten Chimneys in Waukesha, Wisc.
“We are thrilled to bring back the live music evenings in the Lounge after a quiet period during the pandemic,” said Francois-Olivier Luiggi, general manager of the Pierre. “Live entertainment has always had a place in the rich history of The Pierre.”
Two E was originally the Gentlemen’s Library when the Pierre opened in 1930. Its current design, by Alexandra Champalimaud, reflects “a chic Upper East Side residence,” the Pierre said, adding that it “at night, Two E transforms into a stylish bar that serves up handcrafted cocktails complemented by small plates.”
Located on the legendary Central Park, the landmarked Pierre, now a Taj Hotel, opened in 1930. It offers 189 guest rooms, 49 of which are suites; seasonal fare with outdoor seating at its signature restaurant, Perrine; a bespoke cocktail program in its lounge; and the services of a Les Clefs d’Or concierge team.
