Erin Meixel was forced to call 911 when her two-year-old daughter, Quinnley, who was playing with an angel food cake pan, yelled out, “Mommy, stuck! Mommy, stuck!”

Meixel looked over to see the pan pulled over her head, like a giant necklace.

“She thought she could wear it as a hat,” Meixel told Fox TV stations.

Meixel tried to remove the pan from around Quinnley’s neck but when that didn’t work, she had to call 911 after the nearest fire station did not answer.

The mom made sure to tell the dispatcher it was not an emergency but firefighters from the Junction Fire Company in Lewiston, Penn., headed to the home to remove the pan.

“She wore it kind of like a shawl around her shoulders until the firemen got there,” Meixel told WGAL. “She was a trooper. She was still able to eat and drink while she had this tin around her.”

Firefighters used tin snips to cut the cake pan in two places, allowing them to remove it from Quinnley’s head.

“After it was off, she was mad she no longer had that ‘pan hat,’” Meixel said with a laugh, adding the tot went back to playing like “nothing ever happened.”
