Pilot suicide? US report says China Eastern plane PURPOSELY nose dove

0

US media reports have revealed that the China Eastern Airlines plane that crashed two months ago was intentionally put into a nose-dive. No mechanical or technical faults with the jet have been found by investigators.

132 people on the plane died in the crash

The Boeing 737-800, which was flying between Kunming and Guangzhou, crashed. All 132 passengers and crew members on the plane died. The Wall Street Journal said that the plane ‘did what it was told to do by someone in the cockpit’. The plane was less than seven years old.

The report explained that data from the plane’s flight recorders revealed that inputs to the controls forced the plane into a near-vertical dive. Reuters, which cited two people, reported that investigators are looking into the crash and examining what caused the nose dive.

CAAC says pilot suicide claims misled the public

Previously, China Eastern Airlines revealed that the three pilots on the plane were in good health and were qualified.

In April, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said that reports that the plane may have crashed deliberately misled the public and ‘interfered with accident investigation work’.

BBC News reports that Chinese airlines have a good safety record. The last major accident recorded occurred 12 years ago.

China Eastern plane’s vertical dive raises questions – as ‘pilot suicide’ theory tackled

Previously, it was reported that the tragic plane crash has claimed dozens of lives, but details still remain sketchy. A China Eastern plane smashed into a mountainside – and the harrowing moment was caught on CCTV. The aircraft was seen in a vertical dive, sparking theories that range from engine failure to pilot suicide.

The Boeing 737-800 flight from the city of Kunming to the southern hub of Guangzhou “lost airborne contact over Wuzhou” city in the Guangxi region, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The jet was carrying 123 passengers and nine crew members.

China Eastern confirmed, at the time, that at least some people involved in the crash had been killed, without providing more information or giving details on any survivors. The country’s state broadcaster said it had learned that China Eastern will ground all its 787-800 jets as a precaution after the crash. Read the full story here.
