Pinstripes, the massive entertainment centers known for bocce, bowling and Italian-American comfort food, has tapped Walnut Creek’s Broadway Plaza for its next location.
The news, confirmed via Broadway Plaza owner Macerich’s 2021 company overview and its most recent earnings call, is exciting for central Contra Costa County residents, who typically venture to Livemore or San Francisco to get their restaurant-bocce fix. Pinstripes, which is headed for the former Neiman Marcus building at 1000 S. Main St., will be the first major entertainment option in Walnut Creek outside of the downtown movie theater.

The bocce-bowling-bistro leader has 13 locations, including Chicago, Cleveland and San Mateo, which was the first West Coast spot when it opened in 2019. If the forthcoming Pinstripes is anything like that Hillsdale Mall location, you can expect a vast, multi-level experience with an entire bowling alley, bocce courts, a restaurant, two bars and a huge event space.
The San Mateo restaurant menu features a seasonal selection of wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, salads, handmade pastas and gelato, in addition to local craft beer, a curated wine list and handcrafted cocktails. There’s also a popular weekend brunch buffet, happy hour and live entertainment.
