REPORTS: ORLANDO PIRATES TO SNATCH KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET?

As it was widely reported in recent months, Amakhosi have been linked with TS Galaxy’s highly-rated central defender Given Msimango, especially with the likes of Erick Mathoho and Thabani Dube linked with departures out of Naturena.

With very little surprise, Soweto rivals Pirates have now entered the race to sign the 25-year-old from Brakpan, Gauteng.

SEARCH FOR A TOP DEFENDER

According to Soccer Laduma, the Sea Robbers are in the market for a central defender, and Msimango is one of the names mentioned in the Bucs offices.

“Orlando Pirates are widening their search for a top defender, with Siya sources revealing that they have added TS Galaxy’s Given Msimango to their radar,” the outlet said in their latest edition, as shared by @RealTshemedi via Twitter.

“Orlando Pirates are monitoring Given Msimango and are showing interest in his services,” an unnamed source told the publication.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have four central defenders. The department features Olisa Ndah, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Tapelo Xoki and Sandile Mthethwa.

Judging from the few options, the club is likely to keep the existing four and add Msimango as a fifth central defender for depth.
