NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated the Indian team for winning the T20 World Cup for the Blind, and said the country is proud of its athletes.
“India is proud of our athletes. Delighted that we have won the T-20 World Cup for the Blind. Congratulations to our team and best wishes to them for their future endeavours,” Modi tweeted.

Brilliant centuries by skipper Ajay Kumar Reddy and Sunil Ramesh helped India beat Bangladesh by 120 runs in the final and win their third successive T20 World Cup for the Blind title at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The title victory was truly deserving for hosts India as they remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Sunil was declared Man of the Match in the final and also received the Man of the Series in the B3 category.

Ajay was adjudged Man of the Series in the B2 category while Bangladesh’s Mohammed Mahmud Rashid was the Man of the Series in the B1 category.
