Conte coy on potential Tottenham return for Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur supporters dreaming of Mauricio Pochettino returning to the club as manager next season may temper their expectations after the Argentine coach claimed that he will “100%” remain at Paris Saint-Germain.

The North London club remain determined to keep a hold of Antonio Conte despite suggestions that he is unhappy with a number of issues as the club fights with neighbours Arsenal for fourth place in the Premier League table, and are already acting when it comes to this summer’s recruitment plans.

Pochettino to stay in Paris

The 50-year-old has been linked with a move back to Spurs after failing to deliver success in the Champions League with PSG this term. Les Parisiens were knocked out of the competition in the last-16 against Real Madrid despite leading 2-0 in the tie.

However, ahead of PSG’s trip to Strasbourg on Friday, Pochettino revealed he is planning to stay in the French capital next season. He also confirmed star player Kylian Mbappe is set to remain at the French club despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Premier League.

“There haven’t been any concrete talks, beyond what is normal in terms of our plans with what we have been doing so far,” he said. “We have a natural relationship, we communicate regarding different topics.”

Club eyes scouting addition

Conte has already set out his demands of signing at least six new players in the next transfer window should he stay, as he aims to build a squad that will become capable of competing for and winning trophies next season.

And Spurs are now reportedly on the lookout for a an assistant to managing director of football Fabio Paratici in order to help him in securing Conte’s top targets this summer.

Paratici was key to the signing of Cristian Romero last summer, as well as the January transfer window arrivals of Juventus pair Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.

Kulusevski impact praised

The Sweden international has made a strong impact since arriving from Juventus in January, scoring three goals and providing six assists in 11 starts.

And speaking to Stadium Astro, team-mate Son Heung-Min explained how comfortably Kulusevski has adapted to life in England.

He said: “He has something. With that young age, it’s not easy to be a Juventus player. When he trained the first time, it’s obviously not the best feeling because when new players come, you look at it by zooming in. What he’s good at and what he’s not good at. I was really impressed because it was a really good session from him in training.
