Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Catch Wo-Chien, Purple Stake locations

Wo-Chien is just one of several special Legendary Pokemon you can catch and add to your party in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. But before you can add Wo-Chien to your Pokedex, you’re going to need to unlock the Purple Shrine that houses this Pokemon. To do that, you’re going to need to find eight Purple Stakes.

Players interested in catching Wo-Chien will be able to find eight Purple Stakes, which are hidden all around the map of Paldea. Here’s what you need to know to find all eight of those stakes and unlock the Purple Shrine for a chance to catch Wo-Chien.

All Purple Stake Locations

Before you can start hunting down Purple Stakes, it’s important to know where to find the Purple Shrine itself. The Shrine can be found in the far east of South Province Area One, just along the southern border of the continent. When you have approached it once, the shrine will be showcased on your map indefinitely.

There are eight Purple Stakes to find in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and each one can be interacted with once you find it to begin unlocking the Purple Shrine.

Purple Stake #1

The first Purple Stake is found just south of Los Platos, atop the hills of South Province Area One. Look out for a small lake, then search for the stake along the river.

Purple Stake #2

The second Purple Stake is found northeast of Los Platos, just east of the Poke Center outside of Mesagoza’s southern gate. Look for the Purple Stake on the corner of a plateau.

Purple Stake #3

To find the third Purple Stake, look for a spiral-looking plateau northeast of Los Platos, the same area where you can catch Bagon. This Purple Stake can be found at the top of the plateau.

Purple Stake #4

Head toward the bridge that leads to South Province Area Three and look for this Purple Stake along the southern coast of the river that surrounds Mesagoza.

Purple Stake #5

Head to the southwestern area of South Province Area Five and look for this Purple Stake on the edge of the cliff that overlooks South Province Area One. You shouldn’t have too hard a time finding this stake overlooking the area below.

Purple Stake #6

Head out of the east gate of Mesagoza and climb up the rocky hills just north of the curve in the road.

Purple Stake #7

Head to Artazon and look for this Purple Stake directly south of the Artazon (East) Poke Center. This stake can be found at the top of a dirt hill.

Purple Stake #8

The final Purple Stake needed to unlock the Purple Shrine can be found on the northern tip of the cliff area that overlooks East Province Area One from South Province Area Three.
