Twenty-year-old pop-rock juggernaut Olivia Rodrigo, who last headlining shows in Denver were at the Mission Ballroom, is trading up for the cavernous Ball Arena as part of her 2024 Guts Tour.
The new road dates, in support of her sophomore album released on Sept. 8, will bring her to Ball Arena on July 30, 2024. Registration for access to tickets, as promoter Live Nation calls it, is open now through 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, at oliviarodrigo.com.
Fans are being asked to register ahead of tickets going on sale “to help block bots, reduce resale and get more tickets directly into the hands of fans who want to attend the show,” promoters wrote. “Once registration closes, fans will be randomly selected to receive a code that grants them access to the sales on Wednesday, September 20 and Thursday, September 21.”
Tickets will range from $49.50 to $199.50.
Rodrigo, who last played Denver April 11-12 at Mission Ballroom, is embarking on her first arena tour with loads of credibility. She’s known for paying tribute to her punk, alt- and indie-rock forebears in her work and in videos. That makes her choice of openers notable, including ’90s alt-rock titans The Breeders, as well as PinkPantheress, Chappell Roan, and Remi Wolf. PinkPantheress is scheduled to open the Denver date.
Rodrigo is a veteran of Disney Channel shows such as “Bizaardvark” and the “High School Musical” series. She first came to mainstream-music attention with the 2021 hit “Driver’s License,” from the multi-platinum album “Sour,” which made her the youngest artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
She graces this month’s cover of Rolling Stone and boasts a trio of Grammys for her debut album (“Sour”).
