A popular children’s light has been urgently pulled from shelves over fears it could cause deaths.
Happy Craft Supplies’ LED night light was recalled due to an issue with the button battery it was supplied with.
Product Safety Australia said the light had not been tested against its mandatory standard for products containing button/coin batteries.
The light comes with an acrylic piece, a remote control with one button battery and a black or white base.
Young children who gain access to the button battery and eat it are likely to suffer severe internal burns, potentially resulting in serious injury or death.
They are also a choking hazard for young children.
The product was sold nationally and online from June 22 to 28.
Affected consumers will be contacted by Happy Craft Supplies and asked to return the light for their choice of a replacement product or refund.
