Ujjal Saud said he is still in the hospital with a neck brace and cut on his nose.

“I have a headache right now, I have neck pain,” Saud said. “I thought somebody hit a bat on my car, but it was something that fell on my roof.”

Despite his injuries, Saud said he feels like because if the debris had fallen a bit closer to him, the injuries could have been much worse.

Ujjal Saud said he feels lucky his injuries were mild after falling debris hit a car he was in Wednesday.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirmed it is responding to the scene.

A Suffolk Construction spokesman said a metal beam about 12 inches wide fell from the exterior of the under construction building and landed on the man’s SUV.

“We are working with OSHA, city officials and our trade partners to investigate the cause of this incident,” the company said. “In an abundance of caution, Suffolk has voluntarily shut down the 400 Summer Street project site to conduct a comprehensive review of the site and the trade partners’ adherence to Suffolk’s strict safety standards. As always, the safety of our people, trade partners and members of our community is our number one priority.”
