The New York Knicks were once interested in acquiring Paul George from the Los Angeles Clippers but apparently that’s no more.
The two teams were having discussions regarding George but there’s now “nothing to it” for George, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.
George has been on the Clippers for the last four seasons and is slated to make $45.6 million this upcoming season. He’ll then have an opportunity to make $48 million in 2024-25 if he uses his player option.
He’s coming off a 2022-23 season that saw him average 20.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting just under 44% from the floor (43.7%).
He helped lead the Clippers to the playoffs before they fell to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs in five games.
As for the Knicks, they’ll have to look for more help elsewhere.
