The Power universe wouldn’t be the same without the whirlwind bromance between Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) and James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardwick). While their relationship had more than its fair share of backstabbing and complications, by the time the Starz drama came to a close, Tommy was devastated to see his righthand man had been killed by Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr). So while Tommy may have fled the streets of New York and headed to Chicago to start afresh in Book IV: Force after so much heartbreak, Sikora has detailed the impact Ghost still has on the spin-off.
Express.co.uk asked Sikora all about tackling his own Power series head-on and how Force will incorporate everything Tommy’s learned over the years.
Daily Express: With an all-new cast, it means Tommy and you as an actor are going into it without Omari and Ghost, how did you find that?
Joseph Sikora: “Oh that’s fine, that was no problem at all. But you know, I do miss the Tommy/Ghost dynamic.
“Omari is a great actor to work with. And I just, I think it’s an amazing duo. I think Courtney Kemp, the show’s creator, did a great job and also Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, who, you know, came up with some of these characters with her.

“They did a really great job with making this brotherhood something that’s, I don’t want to get ahead of myself or anything, but you know, a bit of TV history.”
Express: Did Omari have any advice for fronting your own Power series?
Sikora: “No, but he’s always been a supportive guy, certainly on social media, and I love catching up with him.
“And, you know, he’s doing great, he’s doing amazing amount of movies, and doing his own thing.
“Of like, ‘Wow, I did that. I’ve been doing that’, like, ‘I did this without Ghost. I’ve been doing it without Ghost’.
“And I think that Tommy is going to miss Ghost but I think that Tommy is so influenced by Ghost and that relationship that he had… I think that the Power fans are still going to get a glimpse of Ghost and the strategicness and the strategic brilliant mind that Ghost had that Tommy has had to develop.
“You know, Michael Jordan can’t tell you how he played basketball but Kobe Bryant can, you know what I mean?
“They’re two brilliant players, but they attack the game different. So I think that it’s going to be a really exciting combination to watch this new show.
“You know, it’s still the same Tommy, but it’s ‘Tommy Plus’.”
So while Ghost may not appear in the present-day in the new spin-off, it’s safe to say Tommy will still feel the impact of their friendship to mould his new life in Force.
Sikora will be joined in the cast of the new series by the likes of Tommy Flanagan, Gabrielle Ryan, Kris D Lofton, Lili Simmons, Shane Harper and Antony Fleming.
Power Book IV: Force premieres on February 6 on Starz in the USA and Starzplay in the UK.
