Brittney Griner will not be traveling with the Phoenix Mercury on their upcoming two-game road trip.
The Mercury announced earlier this weekend that Griner will be staying home to focus on her mental health. The WNBA All-Star is playing in her first season since returning from Russia, where she was imprisoned for nearly a year.
“Mercury center Brittney Griner will not travel with the team on its upcoming two-game road trip to Chicago and Indiana (July 30-August 1) to focus on her mental health. The Mercury fully support Brittney and we will continue to work together on a timeline for her return,” the team announced.

Our thoughts will be with the Phoenix Mercury star as she steps away from her team.
