OVO Sound artist Baka Not Nice has ended a three-year hiatus between releases with new track “Body & A Face.”
His first new music since 2019 single “UP” was produced by OZ and Fierce. “I just hugged Adele with a .50 on my waist,” he says on the song in his typically unflinching style over a production that feels unmistakingly OVO, before adding, “don’t make me dirty up the place.”
Baka Not Nice will perform at the inaugural Rolling Loud Toronto this Sept. 9-11. He’ll hit the stage on Saturday.
He posted footage of rehearsals for the set on his Instagram.
He hasn’t been entirely quiet during the pandemic. He’s kept an active Instagram of late and a year ago he was shouting the praises of label boss Drake’s Certified Lover Boy compared to Kanye West’s Donda. While Baka Not Nice enthusiasically hashtagged #imback on Instagram, a follow-up to 2019 EP No Long Talk has yet to be announced.
