Pret A Manger introduced its new Christmas menu to all stores across the UK yesterday, November 2. Popular items have returned, alongside brand new ones.

Kicking off the Christmas menu is the return of the highly anticipated Christmas Lunch Sandwich.

This seasonal favourite consists of slices of British turkey, with port and orange cranberry sauce, herby pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves, a dab of mayonnaise, and crispy onions.

As always, 50p from this sandwich will be donated to The Pret Foundation, helping to tackle hunger, poverty and homelessness in the UK.

The Christmas Lunch Baguette and beloved Brie & Cranberry Baguette are also back on the menu.

This tasty sandwich is made with mature Cheddar cheese, British turkey, pulled British ham, and herby pork stuffing, finished with a dollop of caramelised onion chutney and sage mayonnaise, before being toasted to perfection.

Another savoury dish is the Hog Roast Macaroni Cheese, which is baked throughout the day with layers of Tubetti Rigati pasta in extra mature Cheddar béchamel sauce, pulled British ham, and caramelised onion chutney and parsley.

It is then finished with a sprinkling of panko breadcrumbs, a drizzle of olive and rapeseed oil, as well as Italian matured cheese.

A new sweet treat to be introduced to the menu is the Chocolate Orange Mini Loaf, which is a rich chocolate orange sponge with milk chocolate chunks, chocolate orange buttercream, milk chocolate curls, and pieces of candied orange peel.

Pret also caters for vegeterians and vegans. The chain has launched a new Festive Falafel & Squash sandwich, made with herby butternut squash topped with Pret’s sweet potato falafel, Christmas pesto, pickled cabbage and carrot, cranberry sauce and vegan sage mayonnaise, rocket, and crispy onions.

It has also introduced a vegan-friendly twist on a festive classic, the Beet Wellington Baguette, with slices of maple and mustard roasted beetroot on a bed of truffle flavoured mushroom pâté, Christmas pesto and vegan sage mayonnaise.

This is topped with rocket and crispy onions – perfect for anyone looking to indulge.

As for drinks, Pret has three new seasonal hot drinks, which are the Gingerbread Latte, the Praline Latte, and the Macaroon hot chocolate.

The Gingerbread Latte is made with sweet and spiced gingerbread syrup, a shot of espresso, steamed milk, whipped cream, and cinnamon. Meanwhile, the Praline Latte is Pret’s classic latte with a rich praline flavoured syrup topped with whipped cream and a dusting of chocolate powder.

The Macaroon hot chocolate uses Pret’s organic hot chocolate with a sweet macaroon flavoured syrup, and is then topped with whipped cream.

Katherine Bagshawe, UK Food and Coffee Director at Pret, commented on the new menu, saying: “Christmas is a very exciting time for us as we look to develop new and exciting products, we know our customers will love. We spend months researching trends, flavour profiles and working with our suppliers to get the best and freshest ingredients to help give Pret the Christmas food edge.

“We’re excited to bring even more extra special recipes to Pret fans this Christmas – our menu is more generous and more festive than ever before with something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. It wouldn’t be Christmas without our famous Christmas Lunch Sandwich and some innovative new products. We can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions once they try the menu.”
