Formula One racer Oscar Piastri’s mother sent social media into a frenzy with her hilarious response to a reply on a picture of her son alongside Fernando Alonso. The 22-year-old racer is one of the hottest prospects in the sport and is set to complete his first full season. While the rookie is trying to make a name for himself on the track, his mother Nicole Piastri seems to be providing fans with some entertainment off it.

A fan uploaded the hilarious exchange in a picture on the platform X. In the first post, Oscar can be seen saying, “Had his kart. Now I’ve got his helmet”, about his picture with Alonso. This sparked a reaction from a user who hailed the bright talent by saying, “The goat father and the goat son.” Oscar’s mum noticed the comment and intervened with a brilliant reply saying, “Pretty sure I would’ve remembered that”.

This isn’t the first time that Oscar’s mum has come up with a witty comment. Nicole Piastri has been a constant presence on social media. She has also extensively spoken about the rollercoaster of emotions that she has to go through being a parent of an F1 driver.

Nicole has managed to amass a considerable number of fans with her quirky posts. This led to Oscar being questioned about his mother’s new social media fame during his visit to the MotoGP paddock. He said, “Yeah, it’s cool. That’s where I made my social media name for myself on Twitter a few years ago, and now my mum’s doing the same, mainly by making fun of me, but that’s okay, she’s my mum, she’s allowed to!”

All off-track jokes aside, Piastri is determined to see his upward trajectory alongside McLaren continue at the Dutch Grand Prix. He stars for the British team alongside British-Belgian driver Lando Norris. Oscar had mostly been used as a reserve driver in the past year by McLaren before he catapulted into stardom. He currently takes the ninth spot in the Drivers’ Championship standings on 87 points which is quite an impressive tally for a debutant racer. Oscar has already secured two podium finishes this season. His most recent triumph came in the Qatar Grand Prix where he sealed the second position.

With only three races remaining, Piastri will likely make the top in the final standings along with his teammate Norris. McLaren is also eyeing the top three in the Constructor’s Championship. They are currently on the back foot, trailing by 93 points to Ferrari.
