There’s a lot to talk about this morning, and by that I mean the absolutely jaw-dropping revelations from Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir, Spare, that were just published in The Guardian.
The newspaper got their hands on a copy of Harry’s book despite it being under lock-and-key, and revealed that he accuses his brother, Prince William, of physically attacking him after an argument about Meghan Markle. And while recounting details of the fight, Harry casually dropped the nicknames he and William have for each other…Willy and Harold.
I’ll give you a moment.
Harry’s nickname for William (aka Willy) came up when he wrote about getting his brother a glass of water in the kitchen, saying “Willy, I can’t speak to you when you’re like this.” The fight then happened, which, went like this:
“He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
As William was leaving (and after he instructed Harry not to tell Meghan Markle what happened), Harry recalls saying “You mean that you attacked me?” to which William responded, “I didn’t attack you, Harold.”
HAROLD!
Kinda wild that these two were still using their nicknames in the heat of a fight, but anyway, reminder that Harold’s book drops on January 10 and it’s clearly an absolute must-read.
