Princess Charlotte Makes Rare Video Appearance to Cheer On the Lionesses

Prince William and Princess Charlotte make an adorable father-daughter pair.

The seven-year-old royal made a surprise appearance in a sweet video shared on social media ahead of the Women’s Euro 2022 Final match between England and Germany. In the clip, which shows the Duke of Cambridge and Charlotte in front of some greenery, the royals wish England’s women’s soccer team, known as the Lionesses, good luck before the big match.

In the clip, the young royal looks adorable in a navy top with small white flowers, while her dad wears a blue button-up shirt.

“We both want to wish the lionesses the best of luck tonight, you’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way!’ Willam says, before Charlotte adds “Good luck! I hope you win. Bye!”

The caption on the Twitter post reads “Good luck tonight @Lionesses, we’re all cheering for you!”

While Charlotte has been a longtime soccer fan, William is president of the English Football Association and makes regular appearances at games. He, Duchess Kate, and Prince George attended the Men’s Euro Final at Wembley Stadium last year, where the family supported England’s team.

The father of three also met with the Lionesses at their training session last month, where he passed along words of encouragement from Charlotte. During the event, he received custom jerseys for Charlotte, George, and young Prince Louis, printed with their names and ages at the time, per People.

“Charlotte wanted me to tell you that she is really good at goal,” he told the team. “She said, ‘Please tell them that.’ She’s a budding star for the future.”
