TNT’s Kenny “The Jet” Smith isn’t buying Bronny James as a serious NBA prospect.
Appearing on BigBoyTV, the beloved basketball commentator went as far as saying that James’ NBA prospects were “improbable.”
“75 years of basketball Big, there’s only been 5,100 players that touch a floor,” Smith explained. “So to be waiting on your son to be one of those 5,100, that doesn’t even make sense, like, he’s not waiting on his son. He’s wishing his son will make it.”
The NBA brotherhood is no doubt an exclusive fraternity, but it’s hard to believe that a team wouldn’t take a flier on the son of one of the greatest players to ever play the game (i.e. a player like Gary Payton II).
A four-star combo guard coming out of Sierra Canyon, Bronny ranks 19th in his class and will play his college ball at USC alongside top recruit Isaiah Collier.
LeBron James has said its his dream to one day play in the NBA with his son. Given how things have turned out thus far, that dream could soon become a reality.
