Last week, the NBA opened an investigation into whether referee Eric Lewis violated league rules by having burner accounts on Twitter.
With the NBA Finals about to start this Thursday evening, it has been announced that Lewis won’t get to work the Heat-Nuggets series.
That’s right, Lewis was not one of the 12 referees selected for the Finals.
“Regarding Eric Lewis and the social media posts, we are continuing to review the matter and he will not be working the finals,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said.

This has to be devastating news for Lewis, who has worked the NBA Finals in each of the last four seasons.
It’s unclear when the league will complete its investigation into Lewis’ potential activity on social media.
This year’s NBA Finals will be officiated by Scott Foster, Tony Brothers, Marc Davis, John Goble, Zach Zarba and Josh Tiven among others.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
