It’s thought that Lawrence’s experiences in Eastwood and the countryside surrounding the town have inspired many of the author’s early works such as Sons and Lovers, The White Peacock and The Trespasser.

Lawrence’s most famous novel, which was published in 1928, was Lady Chatterley’s Lover. The novel depicts a relationship between a working-class gamekeeper and an aristocratic woman and is known for its sexual descriptions.
