Prosenjit Chatterjee isn’t a brand but an emotion in Bengal. Fondly called Bumba Da, the legendary actor has completed 4 decades in Showbiz. Last month, he gave two poles apart performances within a week’s time with the Hindi series Jubilee and the Bengali film Shesh Pata. Prosenjit da caught up with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar for a heart-to-heart where he opened up on another instance where he shocked his audience with two different portrayals released simultaneously. He also spoke about the rise of Bengali cinema in the pan-India section and the effect of Kantara. While sharing the secret behind him ageing in reverse like his friend Anil Kapoor, Prosenjit da reflected on the time he took an out from films after his first breakup and not working for 2.5 years post that. He also discussed the baggage of being the legendary Biswajit Chatterjee’s son while shedding light on the time they had their differences and if he had any regrets about that time. He shared his plans for his son too. Uttam Kumar and Soumitra Chatterjee mentored Prosenjit da and he opened up on their influence and how his career would have been different had the former been alive. He revealed his reason for choosing off-beat films to do in Hindi, why he can’t be number 2 and the pressure of commerce he feels on doing a Bollywood project.
