PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the January 2022 free games reveal.
The next batch of PS Plus games will be officially unveiled at 4.30pm GMT on December 29.
The free PS4 and PS5 games will be available to download less than a week later on January 4.
According to a recent leak, the January 2022 line-up will be headlined by PS5 launch title Dirt 5.
Developed by Codemasters, the rally racing game features a slew of different race types and vehicle classes.
It also sports some stunning visuals, particularly the car models and extreme weather effects.
The PS5 version even takes advantage of the DualSense controller, utilising haptics and adaptive triggers.
Codemasters explains more: “DIRT 5 is the most ambitious title yet in Codemasters’ legendary off-road franchise. With brand new features and breathtaking action, DIRT 5 creates a vibe that delivers big on epic racing, pure expression, and unbridled style.
“Master over 70 routes in 10 global locations. From ice racing in New York to the marble mines of Italy, to twisting through the favelas of Brazil, conquer dynamic weather and hazardous terrain across all corners of the world.”
The January 2022 PlayStation Plus line-up will also include Persona 5 Strikers, which is like a cross between Dynasty Warriors and Persona.
“Join the Phantom Thieves and strike back against the corruption overtaking cities across Japan.
“A summer vacation with close friends takes a sudden turn as a distorted reality emerges; reveal the truth and redeem the hearts of those imprisoned at the center of the crisis!”
Finally, fans will be able to download brand new PlayStation release Deep Rock Galactic.
The co-op shooter is already available on Steam, where it has received “overwhelmingly positive” reviews from fans.
“Work together as a team to dig, explore, and fight your way through a massive cave system filled with hordes of deadly enemies and valuable resources.
“You will need to rely on your teammates if you want to survive the most hostile cave systems in the galaxy!”
With the new PS Plus games coming soon, subscribers are running out of time to download the December free games.
The current selection of PlayStation Plus games include Godfall Challenger Edition, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell.
That’s on top of PSVR games The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, The Persistence, and Until You Fall.
