KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: On Nov 27, 2021, the Kuwait Chapter of PUAC (Peaceful Unification Advisory Council), Chapter Chair — Chung, Hyun-sik hosted “10km Desert Trekking: a well-wish for peace on Korean Peninsula” and “special guest lecture: peaceful reunification of two Koreans” in Kabedarea of the State of Kuwait. About 70 people, including PUAC council members, Korean Embassy to Kuwait, Korean community leaders, local university students and educational officials in Kuwait, participated in “10km desert trek” with sincere hearts to realize sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula and to overcome the difficulties of the corona pandemic, a global catastrophe.

Chung, Chapter Chair, explained that this event was a part of a peace movement, to “lead public diplomacy for peace and unification together with Kuwaiti citizens and oversea Koreans” and “to spread the international community’s consensus on peace on the Korean Peninsula.” This event was sponsored by the Middle East Council of PUAC, Council Chair — Hyun, Bong-cheol and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the State of Kuwait Ambassador — H.E. Jeong, Byungha. PUAC, established under Article of 92 of Korean Constitution, is an advisory body to the President of the Republic of Korea, making suggestions and offering advice to the President (Chairman), regarding its peace and unification policies. The 20th Council of PUAC works with local citizens and oversea Koreans to achieve “sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.”
