More than a year after popular pub CY O’Connor Village Pub burnt down an opening date for the rebuilt venue has been announced.
On Wednesday, a Facebook post revealed that the pub will reopen in early 2023.
They also took the opportunity to advertise for staff.
The ad stated that the pub is looking for “deadset legends” to fill roles from the kitchen to the management level.
There was also a job advertised for a senior beverage manager and mixologist.
In 2021, an out-of-control blaze left the owners with a $5 million damage bill.
Patrons were rushed out of the pub amid fears alcohol stored on site would fuel the fire.
It took firefighters 90 minutes to get the blaze under control.
One of the only things salvaged from the fire was the pub’s WA’s Best Steak Sandwich 2021 belt which they had won just one month before the fire.
After the fire, punters were promised a bigger and better-refitted venue.
Managing director John Dawkins said the rebuild provided an opportunity to incorporate a new steakhouse to further highlight their paddock to plate credentials and show case Melaleuka Farm beef.
The $6 million rebuild includes a sports bar, refitted pub, beer garden and two playgrounds for older and younger children.
Back in 2021 the pub opened a pop-up venue to serve drinks in the old beer garden but this closed to make room for the refit.
